Three Links Supports Renfrew-Collingwood Families in Need

This holiday season, Three Links put aside $1500 to support three local families in need. The money was used to purchase groceries, clothing, and gifts that the families could not otherwise afford.

The first family is a recently-single mom with three kids aged 7 to 16. The youngest is on the autism spectrum. They were referred to Three Links by a social worker at the Ministry of Children and Families.

The second family are recent refugees from the civil war in Syria. They arrived in Vancouver in January, 2016 from Idlib, Syria via a refugee camp in Lebanon. They have seven children, including twins born here in Vancouver. The father is living with a disability that has made it difficult for him to find work. They were referred to us by a long-standing local family who have been supporting their transition into Canadian life.

The third family is an older gentleman who is a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church. He was referred to us by Cesare Stefanon, Three Links’ longest-serving volunteer.

The families, all residents of the Renfrew Collingwood community, have expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support provided by the Three Links Community.
