Janice started working in non-profit in 1992, the year of the first-ever text message. A National Science and Engineering Research Council Scholarship she received that year was supposed to launch her career in physics, but a part-time job with UBC’s fundraising department launched a career dedicated to the charitable sector instead.

When it comes to fundraising, she has done it all. Same goes for communications, marketing, volunteer management, and 28 years spent in senior leadership roles.

Her accomplishments range from achieving average annual fundraising growth of 28% for 11 straight years at Covenant House Vancouver and creating a “Thank-a-Thon” where volunteers personally thanked over 16,000 donors a year to, at Options Community Services, leading the development of a 101-unit affordable housing project along with securing a $5.9M CMHC grant for the project.

In 2002, she received the Business in Vancouver’s 40 Under 40 Outstanding Achievement Award. In 2011, the Association of Fundraising Professionals named her that year’s Outstanding Professional Fundraiser.

In 2020, Janice took over as Executive Director of Crossroads Hospice Society, and successfully led the organization through a complete “reset” increasing resiliency and profits all while dealing with the wide ranging impacts of COVID on non profits and healthcare.

The opportunity to join Three Links was an easy decision given its reputation in the community and she is thrilled to be here. When she has spare time, she shares her expertise with other non-profits as a Knowledge Philanthropist with Vantage Point. She is also a pug lover, aspirational gardener, and published physicist. She is in the CEO office 9-5, so drop by and say hello!
