Dear friends,

Further to previous notices and increased public concern regarding COVID-19, we want to provide you with an update on recent infection control activities at the Three Links Care Centre.

Despite the fact we have not had any reported cases and out of an abundance of caution, our Leadership Team has decided to implement our regular flu season outbreak protocols.  These will essentially be the same measures we introduced two weeks ago when we had a contained influenza outbreak.

With this protocol, Three Links is taking the following steps:

  1. Posters have been placed at all Care Centre and Manor entrances and elevators to inform all visitors of the restrictions.
  2. All outdoor bus trips and entertainers that come into the care home are canceled until further notice.
  3. All volunteer visits are suspended until further notice.
  4. All care home tours are suspended until further notice.
  5. Families are receiving phone calls informing them of the measures and asking them not visit during this time unless absolutely necessary.  We are providing designated loved ones direct contact information for the unit so they can get an update or talk to their family member.
  6. No visitors are allowed into the Care Centre until further notice.
  7. Staff are being screened each shift and will be asked to go home if you are not well.
  8. Reception coverage will be extended to off-hours where possible.
  9. Cleaning procedures are being continuously enhanced with Clorox wipes being applied to commonly touched areas at least twice a day.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding during this period.  As always, our goal is to protect the health and safety of residents, staff, volunteers, visitors and our community.
