Dear friends,

Further to previous notices and as promised, here is an update on our infection control efforts related to the current public health crisis and influenza season.

Thankfully, Three Links still does not have a confirmed case of COVID-19 but the measures we announced previously here, here, herehere, and here remain in effect until further notice.

Operations

Our Leadership Team continues to hold regular briefings, participate in Health Authority teleconferences and practice outbreak protocols. In addition to providing weekly updates for our Board and Family Advisory Council, we have continued collaborating with Safe Care BC and the BC Care Providers Association. They are talking daily with the provincial and federal health officials regarding the supply of personal protective equipment, staffing levels and other urgent issues.

We continue to follow Orders from the BC and Vancouver medical health officers regarding staffing, visitor and contractor access. So far we have been able to retain almost all our care staff with the new BC policy requiring all care staff to work at one location. Almost all contracted services remain suspended until further notice so building access is limited.

Mother’s Day Videos and Patio Visits

While virtually all site access by non-essential staff remains limited, we are continuing to find new ways to connect families. Our recreation program team and expanded reception team continue to support these efforts. Face Time sessions and patio visits are continuing.

With Mother’s Day this past weekend, we invited family members to send their loved one a video message.  We also made some additional outdoor space available on our beautiful south patio for visits – off the main street. And, the Care Centre can receive flowers.
