Dear Three Links family,

Further to previous updates, we have had one new Care Centre staff member test positive for COVID-19 since my last report. However, I am pleased to report both Care Centre staff that tested positive previously have fully recovered and are back to work.

We continue to monitor residents closely for symptoms. So far, all resident tests have come back negative. The safety of residents and staff continues to guide all of our efforts.

Our leadership team is communicating with Vancouver Coastal Health and following their lead on infection control measures. Rapid testing continues for all staff.

In response to a increasing number of long term care outbreaks across the province, the BC government has just announced significant new restrictions to long term care visitation.

Starting tomorrow, only fully vaccinated essential visitors will be allowed in the Care Centre.

Rapid testing and 24 hours notice will also be required.

The Three Links Family Information Line will be open at 604-434-7211 Ex 508 to schedule essential visits. We are awaiting details on how the BC government is defining essential visitors at this stage. We will circulate this directly to families as soon as we receive some clarity.

Finally, we continue to encourage all staff and visitors to register for their third vaccination as soon as they are eligible. We are also advocating for staff who are waiting for their appointment and want it moved up.

I want to thank our entire team for their tireless service to the residents we serve. You continue to do an amazing job of keeping the Care Centre happy and warm over these holidays.

We remain hopeful and optimistic that 2022 will be a better year.

Warm regards,

David Hurford, CEO
