Peritoneal Dialysis

medical-procedure An innovative initiative between Three Links Care Centre, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (VCHA), St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital and Vancouver Community in 2007 saw the implementation of VCHA’s first regional peritoneal dialysis care program in a residential setting. Three Links Care Centre is pleased to be able to offer our residents peritoneal dialysis therapy while maintaining their quality of life through ongoing medical, nursing and recreation support services.  See our brochure.

All nursing staff at Three Links Care Centre attend specialized training and are certified to assist residents with their dialysis therapy. Residents on peritoneal dialysis must meet residential care criteria prior to being accepted into the Three Links Care Centre Peritoneal Dialysis Program.

  • Be assessed and qualify for placement in a complex care facility
  • Be stable and receiving peritoneal dialysis. If on hemodialysis, must be willing to change to peritoneal dialysis with permission from dialysis team.
  • Be willing to use a cycler machine overnight to perform your exchanges. We do not support CAPD.
