Volunteering at Three Links Care Society

Three Links provides a welcoming environment for volunteers from all backgrounds.  The Volunteer Mission is to add quality of life to our residents and tenants through sharing skills, expertise and social interactions.

We are now accepting applications for the following volunteer positions:

Coffee Corner Host, Three Links Manor (Supportive Housing)

Description:  The volunteer hosts a coffee social in the main dining room of the Manor.  Our goal is to provide an outlet for socialization in a group setting as well as to provide an opportunity for the development of friendships.  

Duties:
- Set up, prepare tea and coffee
- Welcome tenants and encourage conversation
- Clean up 

Requirements:
- Suitable for a mature and outgoing individual or couple
- Willingness to commit to a regular schedule
- Must be available for a weekday morning or early afternoon
- Ability to work alone and with little supervision

Manicure Volunteer, Three Links Manor (Supportive Housing)

Description:  The volunteer will provide an enjoyable leisure experience through hand massage and manicure.  (This is not a professional service, no experience necessary.)

Duties:
- Set up of materials
- Welcome tenants as they arrive, offer a seat and provide a manicure in order of arrival
- Encourage fun and socialization
- Clean up

Requirements:
- Suitable for a mature and outgoing individual or couple
- Willingness to commit to a regular schedule
- Must be available for a weekday morning or early afternoon
- Ability to work alone and with little supervision

Activity Hosts, Three Links Manor (Supportive Housing)

Description:  We are currently looking for volunteers (individual or a group) to host an afternoon movie matinee with a snack service.

If you or a group you belong to would like volunteer on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis at Three Links Manor, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator to discuss how you could contribute.

Sewing Volunteer at Three Links Care Centre

Description:  We are in need of a volunteer with sewing skills to make some basic alterations to resident clothing.  By opening the back of garments and adding Velcro fasteners, residents will be able to dress and undress with ease.

By volunteering your time and skills, you will be contributing to maintaining residents’ dignity as they will be able to continue to dress as they are accustomed.

This is a limited short term project suitable for an individual or a group.

Feeding Encourager at Three Links Care Centre

Description: A resident meal time encourager provides encouragement, cueing, prompting and limited physical assistance to cognitively impaired residents during mealtime to maximize their independence with eating.

Social Visitor

Description: Volunteers provide a positive experience for a resident or tenant by visiting, reminiscing or doing an activity together.

Front Door Responder Volunteer at Three Links Care Centre

Description: Outside regular office hours, the volunteer screens individuals who wish to enter the facility. The volunteer acts as a first point of contact while eliminating security risks to residents and staff.

Skilled Volunteer Projects

Description: Provides specialized skills to short term projects not available in-house to enhance programs and services provided by the volunteer department and other areas of operations. Skills may include professional services such as marketing, writing, training etc. Technical skills may include computer specialties such as excel, visual design, programming and more.


Skills and Experience: Ability to socially interact with seniors in an appropriate manner. Follow instructions and work with limited or no supervision. Willing to encourage and show support for others.

Training Provided: All volunteers must complete an orientation provided by Three Links Care Society plus job training to ensure appropriate resident/tenant support.

Duration: Short-term or long-term
Volunteers Required: Open
Requirements: Requires criminal record check, references and interview
