A long-time resident of the Renfrew-Collingwood area, Fe Damasco had driven past Three Links for years. We were lucky to have Fe join our team as a Registered Nurse in 2003. Fe’s official retirement day is February 28th, but staff, residents and volunteers couldn’t wait that long to celebrate Fe’s time with us here at Three Links.

“I loved working with the residents in long-term care,” said Fe, who has been a Registered Nurse for over forty years–twenty-five of those years in residential care settings. The biggest challenge she faced after arriving at Three Links was learning a computer system. It didn’t take long before Fe’s two-fingered typing turned into the confident use of a variety of different electronic systems at the centre.

Fe quickly made her way into the hearts of fellow Three Links staff with a love of crafts and cooking. Fe shared her famous traditional Filipino pansit and lumpia with staff on day one! It’s rare to meet a staff member who doesn’t have a craft memento from her explorations in jewelry making and crochet.

As the mother of three grown children, Fe’s initial plan for retirement is to head straight to Atlanta, Georgia, to spend plenty of time with a first grandchild. After that, she’ll settle into her home with her retired husband and two dogs, which she refers to as “her babies.”

On behalf of us all, we wish Fe a happy retirement full of visits to her friends at the Three Links Care Society.
